Businesses have become increasingly dependent on the Microsoft 365 platform to facilitate communication, creation, and collaboration within remote worker populations. As Microsoft adds more features in anticipation of end user needs, it can be difficult to understand how to use new capabilities to further information governance objectives.
As IG professionals, we have to continuously refresh our working knowledge of established M365 native tools – classifiers, policies, and labels – to ensure the uniform management of data stored in our corporate M365 clouds. Unless we work with IT to automate data management all the way through disposition, everyone is at risk of being enticed by too many M365 options and then weighted down by our own information.
