Effective Information Governance (IG) requires a coordinated and interdisciplinary approach that can optimize the value of information while mitigating the associated risks. A true enterprise-wide IG program would be not restricted to just information lifecycle management but will also cover security, privacy, and overall governance. Enhanced collaboration with all these stakeholders is critical for IG programs to be successful.

Cross-functional programs are particularly challenging to manage. It is often difficult to get alignment across all stakeholders and to clearly define accountability. Stakeholders need to understand exactly what each function is responsible for and how their efforts tie to the strategic priorities of the organization. This session will cover data-driven approaches and strategies for breaking down the silos within IG programs and improving cross-functional alignment and transparency within organizations.
